The technique offered spontaneity, lightness of touch, fluidity and transparency, allowing a quick translation of a particular light, vibration or shape; the beginnings of Sennelier watercolours are to be found in the self-same Impressionist school.

The intense pigments, Gum Arabic and honey combination in these paints offer incomparable quality of application, producing superb washes. The honey preserves, but also gives a brilliance and smoothness to the paint.
