Ron takes us a step further in the art of watercolour by concentrating on the design of a painting. Working in the studio, he demonstrates the principles of design in a straightforward manner, showing us the pitfalls to avoid and the tips to follow to produce a more successful painting. These points are also demonstrated in paintings tackled outdoors in and around his garden near Chepstow.
Skies
Ron shows us how to paint the many different effects caused by cloud formations and weather conditions. Working mainly in the studio, he guides us through a whole variety of different skies from cumulus clouds to sunsets, working quickly and boldly with his large Hake brush. He shows us how photographs can be used to best effect and, working outside, shows us how to capture a fast moving sky.
