Mountain Adventures in Watercolour
David works in the Lake District in the summer and the frozen peaks of Snowdonia during the winter. He sketches and paints streams, bridges, cottages, winter and summer trees, rocks and of course mountains, all in a variety of weather conditions from bright sun to deep snow and blizzards. The film is crammed with techniques and advice and contains three studio watercolours.
Developing Your Watercolours
Sketching in mid-Wales, David suggests how to put a sense of mood in our paintings and shows us how to search out the optimum viewpoint. Working with pen, pencil and watercolour he finds a wide variety of subjects: sheep feeding, an old farm, a bridge, a bubbling stream, a study of a tree and even a street scene. Finally he selects the bridge sketch from which to paint a studio watercolour.
