Carres are a unique designers' crayon offering unparalleled design options. The square sectioned sticks are slightly softer in texture than pencils, making them excellent for sketching and layout work together with monochrome and polychrome design work. Similar to a soft pastel but the drying method and different composition makes the Carres slightly harder and oilier but not sticky like oil pastels. They can produce dense vivid colour sweeps and delicate shading, together with fine detail.
