Winsor & Newton Drying Oils 75ml
Drying Oils are used to control the colour, prevent overthinning with solvent and maintain the flexibility of the paint film.
Cold Pressed Linseed Oil: Slightly yellow oil, extracted without the use of heat. Reduces the consistency of oil colours, increases gloss and transparency whilst reducing brush marks. Thin with Turpentine or Artists' White Spirit.
Bleached Linseed Oil: Refined pale oil of slightly increased viscosity, which will improve flow of colours and dries slightly faster than Refined Linseed Oil.
Thickened Linseed Oil: Pale refined oil of syrupy consistency, which increases flow of colours and speeds drying.
Drying Linseed Oil: An oil of darker colour than Refined Linseed Oil, which increases the drying rate of oil colours.
Linseed Stand Oil: Pale viscous oil that can be mixed with Turpentine or White (Mineral) Spirit to improve the flow of oil colour. Retards drying but imparts a tough elastic finish. Use in conjunction with Turpentine or White Spirit to improve colour flow.
Refined Linseed Oil: An alkali-refined oil of pale colour that reduces oil colour consistency, increases gloss and transparency, whilst slowing drying rate.
Drying Poppy Oil: A drying oil for use with whites and pale colours, used to increase the drying rate.
